The Wabi-Sabi Aesthetic
Transience, impermanence, and imperfection are basic tenets of Wabi-Sabi, the Japanese aesthetic which is characterized by the appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and process.
Artist Bill Vollers has embraced this aesthetic using mostly found objects, which are often the detritus of our modern world.
“My guiding principles are balance, appreciation of form, color and texture, and the essence and respect for the material itself.”
Bill lives in Mystic CT.
